Privacy Policy
In short: TajArchive does not collect, store or share any information about you. Your files are compressed, extracted and checked only on your Mac, and nothing leaves it.
Who we are
TajArchive is free, open-source software published by DonishSoft. This policy covers the TajArchive app for macOS, including its Finder menu, Quick Look preview and thumbnail extensions, in both the Mac App Store version and the version downloaded from our website or GitHub.
Information we collect
None. TajArchive has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting of its own and no tracking of any kind. We do not receive your files, file names, passwords or any other personal data.
Your files
- Archives and files you open are read and written only on your Mac.
- The app does not connect to the internet. Links such as “7-Zip Website” in the Help menu simply open your web browser.
- Archive passwords you type are used only to encrypt or decrypt that archive. They are kept in memory while the archive is open and are never saved to disk or sent anywhere.
Information stored on your Mac
- Settings — your preferences, such as language, favorite folders, recently used destinations and compression options, are stored in the app's standard preferences on your Mac.
- Folder access (Mac App Store version) — when you allow TajArchive to use a folder, macOS gives the app a bookmark to it. The bookmark stays on your Mac and only lets the app reopen that folder later.
- Activity log — the app keeps a plain-text log of its own operations (for example, which archive was opened and any error messages) to help diagnose problems. The log stays on your Mac; it is never uploaded. You can view or delete it from Help → Show Log Files.
Removing the app and its folders in ~/Library removes all of this information.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share information with anyone, because we do not have any. If you choose Share… in the app, macOS sends the files you picked to the service you choose (for example AirDrop or Mail); that is handled by macOS and that service.
Children
TajArchive is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. The history of this page is public in the project's GitHub repository.
